Chapter 15
22
Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. They walked three days in the wilderness, and they found no water.
23
And they came to Marah, but they could not drink the waters of Marah because they were bitter; therefore he called its name Marah.
24
The people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?"
25
He cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him some wood. He threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There he set a statute and justice for them, and there he tested them.
26
He said, "If you carefully obey the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will not put on you any of the diseases that I put on Egypt, for I am the LORD your healer."
27
They came to Elim, and there were twelve springs of water and seventy palms. They encamped there by the waters.
